Ecoagricola is a pioneering coffee farm nestled in the Serra do Cabral mountains of Minas Gerais, Brazil — a region where no other company produces coffee. Originally a forestry project started by the Flanzer family in the 1970s, the farm shifted to coffee in the early 2000s under brothers Marcelo and Roberto, who saw the region’s altitude, climate, and terroir as ideal for specialty production.
Despite having no background in coffee, the brothers embraced innovation, installing advanced pivot irrigation systems and adopting precision agriculture to ensure each plant receives exactly what it needs. Their commitment to quality and sustainability quickly paid off: Ecoagricola earned recognition in the prestigious Cup of Excellence competition in 2017.
Today, the farm is owned by the Veloso family, who continue to build on this legacy. They’ve planted 60,000 native trees to boost biodiversity and constructed a Biofactory to produce natural pesticides, reducing agrochemical use. Ecoagricola’s coffees — including this 100% Yellow Catucaí lot — are selectively hand-harvested and meticulously processed with full traceability down to the individual hectare.
Drying is done slowly and carefully, often starting on raised beds or patios and finishing in low-heat mechanical dryers to preserve flavour. The result is a coffee that reflects both the land and the care behind it.
Ecoagricola is deeply committed to conservation and community. They maintain untouched reserves, support local farmers with education and resources, and actively contribute to the Serra do Cabral State Park.
